Estimate a Work Unit
Estimate a Work Unit with team voting, optional time input, and an Orbit recommendation.
Start estimation
- Open the Work Unit.
- Open or enable Estimations.
- Ask each participant to choose a Fibonacci value: 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 13, 21, 34, or
?. - Add an optional time estimate if the current flow requests one.
- Select Reveal after voting is complete.
- Review the votes and average suggestion.
- Enter the final value.
- Select Submit to save it. Quely writes back only when the Work provider supports the required estimation field.
Lower values indicate greater certainty. Higher values indicate greater uncertainty or complexity.

Ask Orbit to estimate
Orbit can participate with a recommended value, reasoning, and clarifying questions. Answer questions immediately or send them to Threads for the team.
Treat Orbit's estimate as another informed input. The team remains responsible for the final value.
Provider limits
Estimation fields differ by provider. Confirm the final value in the source tool before using it for reporting. GitHub Issues and Todoist do not expose an estimation field in Quely's current provider capabilities.
If submission fails
- Confirm the Work Unit's provider supports estimation.
- Confirm the source project has the required estimation field.
- Confirm your account can edit that field.
- Check whether the project type supports the configured estimation flow.
