What a Space is

A Space is a persistent area where a team brings together the work and context related to one initiative, project, team, or theme.

What belongs in a Space

A Space contains a Queue of Work Units and Context Units. Groups can organize related Units within that Queue.

Each open Unit can include its description, source information, Threads, Attachments, Relationships, Documents, Diagrams, estimates, meetings, Orbit chats, and Lenses.

Choose a focused purpose

Create a Space when a group of work and context needs to be understood together. Useful scopes include:

  • A product initiative
  • A release
  • A team or squad
  • A project
  • A customer-related body of work
  • A strategic theme

Avoid turning one Space into a catch-all for unrelated work. A focused Space gives people and Orbit a clearer context.

Work Units and Context Units behave differently

A Work Unit keeps its external identity and can appear in more than one Space. A Context Unit is native to Quely and belongs to one Space.

Access

People must belong to the Organization or be invited as guests before they can access a Space.
