# Create a Context Unit

Create a Context Unit when the team needs a living understanding of a subject rather than another task.

## 1. Type

1. Open the queue at the bottom of the space
2. Select **Add Unit** > **Context**.
3. On **What should I understand?**, choose **Custom**.

Customer, Feature, Initiative, Release, Team, Theme, Competitor, and Product area are visible but marked **Soon**.

## 2. Info

Describe what Orbit should understand in your own words. Orbit creates a proposed title and description. Review and edit both before continuing.

## 3. Connect

1. On **Where should I look for this?**, choose **Confluence**.
2. Select the relevant Confluence spaces, page trees, labels, or page status.
3. Under **What to surface**, choose focus areas such as Risks, Momentum, Decisions, or Blockers.
4. Choose **How far back**: 30 days, 90 days, or All time.
5. Add anything else Orbit should know.
6. Review the displayed **Understanding accuracy**.
7. Select **Add to space**.
